Samsung expects second-quarter profits to miss analysts estimates

Samsung expects second-quarter profits to miss analysts estimates

Earlier reports claimed that it's the other way around and the S10 would be launched earlier than its predecessor.

The rumours suggest that we may see a Gear S4 at the Galaxy Note 9 launch event in NY on August 9th. The Galaxy S9 has some great Android alternatives out there - ironically, a lot of them are iPhone X clones. This likely means that the foldable smartphone's unveiling, which has been delayed for a few years, will finally happen soon.

Samsung originally promised the folding Galaxy X would arrive before the end of 2018, but following a delay rumours expected it to be unveiled sometime in February.

Bloomberg notes that Samsung's OLED sales to Apple for its iPhone X have also been weaker than expected, despite Apple having flogged 52.2 million phones in the second quarter. That's because many iPhone owners will continue to buy iPhone even if it looks exactly like the phone that launched two or three years ago.

Those with accounts connected to third-party apps are subject to this potential use of humans, BBC News reported Tuesday. Now responding on the issue, the search giant Google has released an official blog post clearing its stance on the issue.

Every major mobile phone maker is expected to come up with a foldable device in 2019, and latest rumors point out that Microsoft is nearly ready to unveil its model.

The close announcement dates for the Galaxy X and Galaxy S10 should not be a problem for Samsung.

Analysts speaking to Financial Times and WSJ attribute the drop to lower-than-anticipated Galaxy S9 sales. But it's interesting to hear about the kind of changes the tenth-anniversary Galaxy S flagship could bring on the imaging front, and we can expect to see more rumors about the same surfacing online in the months to come.

Industry sources said sales of smartphones were weak amid mounting competition from rivals as marketing costs for new mobile products also increased, undercutting the sector's profitability.
