Donald Trump nears decision on replacement for Supreme Court

The conservative, pro-life activist who has President Trump's ear as he decides on filling a Supreme Court vacancy predicted the nominee would be confirmed before the mid-term elections but sidestepped a question about whether the candidate would oppose Roe v. Wade.

Mr. Trump is likely to announce his nominees on Monday. Of those, the shortlist is understood to have boiled down to four judges from various U.S. courts of appeal - Amy Barrett, Thomas Hardiman, Brett Kavanaugh and Raymond Kethledge.

President Trump has said he'll name a candidate on July 9, but many students criticized the nonexistent nominee when asked for their opinion, Phillips reported.

While final nominees will be known only when Trump makes the announcement, this would be for the second time that Thapar might not be able to make the final cut after being interviewed by Trump.

Leo has the powerful track record of helping to pick and confirm three of the court's conservative justices, John Roberts, Samuel Alito and Neil Gorsuch.

Talking to reporters travelling with him to Montana overseas Air Force One, Mr Trump said he has interviewed some "extraordinarily talented and brilliant" people during the process.

The US President has chosen prime time to make the announcement. He went back and forth every few hours between the four options in front of him, with Kethledge getting the least attention, people familiar with his thinking said.

Tips and predictions for Brazil vs Belgium
Brazil coach Tite has confirmed that Real Madrid full-back Marcelo will return to the side to face the Belgians. Now, a lot of them are cribbing everytime he falls down on the ground after a challenge.

Judge Raymond Kethledge of MI, who serves on the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, is seen in this 2017 photo released by Bloomsbury Publishing Inc.in New York, New York, U.S., July 6, 2018.

Trump during his campaign in 2016 said he would appoint justices who would overturn the landmark 1973 decision that said women have a constitutional right to an abortion. "And I think we can take this call to action to the American people, take our case to them". Honestly, I could pick any of the 25 and they would be terrific.

Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, may have given a hint to who President Trump's next Supreme Court nominee may be, after repeatedly using a female pronoun in an op-ed on the pick.

He said he believes that any of the four candidates on the short list will dismantle Roe v. Wade and other hard-fought rights.

"The vast majority of American people, shown by poll after poll, want Roe v. Wade to be preserved", Blumenthal said.

The president's only public statement about the choice confronting him came in a tweet from his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, where he was spending the weekend.

Barrett, who was appointed to the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals just previous year, is the youngest of the three final candidates and is the conservative favorite. He was confirmed by the Senate 52-44.
