He was also the father of four daughters - Janet, La Toya, Rebbie and Joh'Vonnie - and six other sons - Jermaine, Randy, Tito, Jackie, Marlon and Brandon, who died in March 1957 just after he was born. "They're hollering, 'Dad, Dad, Dad, ' you know, and it gets to be - it sounds kind of amusing to me". Some were led to wonder if the elder Jackson's misconduct contributed to the alleged child abuse Michael was eventually acquitted of. "I love you grandpa", the 26-year-old wrote alongside two black heart emojis.

'I am extremely appreciative of that, I will never forget our moments together and how you told me how much you cared.

He later tweeted and posted on his website to say he was out of the hospital, back home and feeling fine. Eleven-year-old Michael Jackson became the youngest singer ever to top the benchmark United States singles chart as the lead vocalist on 1969's "I Want You Back". Although his health was a serious concern at the time, Jackson was able to get better and was released from the hospital a short while later. Morgan, who is known for making controversial statements, acknowledged Joe Jackson's contributions as well as his scandals. "My father's never touched me aside from that time".

Joe Jackson would manage all recordings of The Jackson 5 on Motown Records and moved the family to California.

Joe agreed to it but, far from apologising, he said his methods made his kids successful and kept them out of jail. "I'm glad I was tough because look what I came out with", he told CNN in 2013.
