The ministry had on Wednesday, re-assured that Nigeria's official position for a two state solution to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has not changed.

Friday's special session of the UN Human Rights Council came at the request of Palestine and the UAE, on behalf of Arab countries in the council.

Pakistan has expressed full support for any move of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to highlight the plight of the Palestinians, besides deploring the UN Security Council failure to slam brutalities of Israeli forces along Gaza border.

The foreign ministers renewed their rejection and condemnation of Washington's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital, decrying it as a blatant violation of global law and related United Nations resolutions and a threat to worldwide peace and security.

Israel's violent crackdown on the protesters has drawn widespread criticism, with Kuwait urging a meeting of the UN Security Council to discuss the situation along the Gaza-Israel border. "End the occupation, and the violence and insecurity will largely disappear".
