Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu says Iran crossed 'red line' with rocket fire

Israel has suggested that the Quds Force, an Iranian special forces unit, fired the first rockets into the Golan Heights on Wednesday night.

"The Iran deal is defective at its core".

It could spread across Syria and Lebanon.

After Israel, the Saudis are the biggest backer of Trump's decision to pull out of the JCPOA.

Last month, an attack on Syria's T4 air base in the central Homs province killed seven Iranian military personnel.

It also has spy drones that it can use to attack from the sky.

Not only does Israel say it intercepted a number of the Iranian missiles, it says the other missiles failed to reach their target and sputtered out while still in Syria. An Israeli warplane was shot down during the battle. "We did not come to the Iranian border, they came here", he said.

Meanwhile, the deputy chief of Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said Iran has a military powerful enough to repel any foreign assault.

The strikes have prompted threats of retaliation from Tehran, and Israel has girded for a response, ordering bomb shelters open in the Golan.

Dujarric told reporters the UN Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) has maintained contact with both Syria and Israel, urging them to exercise "maximum" restraint and abide by their 1974 ceasefire agreement. The Iranians fighting in Syria fall under a more hardline command.

Hence, the Israeli strikes in Syria are meant to trigger a larger war.

Launching a new war could endanger Hezbollah's political support base, including its Shiite constituency, which is wary of another ruinous war with Israel.

Israel struck back with its heaviest air strikes in Syria since the start of the Syrian civil war in 2011, saying it had attacked almost all of Iran's military infrastructure. Israel has carried out scores of air strikes against suspected shipments. Israel isn't interested in proportionality when it comes to attacks on their country.

The Israeli intelligence coup demonstrates as few things could that the depth of the Iranian regime's extraordinarily complex nuclear deception requires that Iran's entire nuclear infrastructure be dismantled if global security is to be obtained. Iran denies arming them.

Syria now relies on a mixture of less advanced Russian-made anti-aircraft systems to defend its air space.

Tehran's relationship with the Islamic militant group has known highs and lows. With uncertain Russian support, Iran must be more careful.

The possibility of missile supplies to Assad along with its military foray into Syria itself has helped Moscow boost its Middle East clout. with Putin hosting everyone from Netanyahu to the presidents of Turkey and Iran and the Saudi king. Ties with Iran have since somewhat recovered, and Hamas is believed to again get funding from Iran. None of the rockets managed to land in Israeli-controlled territory. No Israelis were wounded.

"It is unbelievable, but 73 years after the Holocaust, there is a country in the Middle East-Iran-that is calling for the destruction of another 6 million Jews", stated Netanyahu.

Scattered strikes in April escalated tensions by targeting not just Iranian proxies but actual uniformed Iranian soldiers, and some high-up ones at that. His staff in Paris say he is pushing for calm: "He calls for de-escalation and he will talk about this with the German Chancellor today".

"It would also be to some extent helpful to the Kremlin if Iran is weakened because this would mean it will limit Iran's ability to compete with Russian Federation in the Middle East in the future", said Borschchevskaya.

"We are resistance factions and we are ready to target Americans in the region in case America hits Iran".
