Facebook investigating public interest in subscription-based version of site

A study by Pew Research Center (before the Cambridge Analytica revelations) polled participants on a hypothetical site that let you connect with old friends for free, but your activity on the site would be used to deliver ads (i.e.: the current Facebook setup) - 51% of participants deemed this unacceptable.

"We will continue with the process".

The Indian government will not halt its probe despite this development. "They have to clear the tasks they have been given".

The biggest cheer during Zuckerberg's keynote - outside of his announcement that everyone in the building was getting a free Oculus Go - came when the CEO announced it was reopening app reviews that had been paused after the Cambridge Analytica news broke.

"There was indication the company was in trouble and change would be coming, but we didn't see this as the resolution", the source reveals. The data firm worked on Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign, as well as the 2016 presidential campaigns of Ben Carson and Senator Ted Cruz.

The government has also questioned the company of non-disclosure pacts signed by it with its associates and clients for Indian assignments, according to the Press Trust of India.

Facebook and Cambridge Analytica have until May 10 to respond to notices issued by the government of India. It reportedly made a proposal for the 2019 elections as well. The investigation is ongoing.

The Dutchman is the first rider since Paolo Savoldelli back in 2005-06 to win the first stage of the race as defending champion. Team Sky told Cyclingnews that Froome is "fine" and "there is no significant damage or cause for concern".

Britain's Information Commissioner's Office has been investigating Cambridge Analytica and its parent company, SCL Group, as part of a wider look at the use of personal data and election campaigns.

If Cambridge Analytica had been attending F8 this week instead of going out of business, that company would have been cheering, too.

Damian Collins, the chair of the U.K. Parliament's media committee, told Sky News that he was "alive to the risk" that the company might try to rebrand itself.

"Cambridge Analytica has never received Twitter data from GSR or Aleksandr Kogan, and has never done any work with GSR on Twitter data".

The company is just rebranding, according to tech news website Register.com, which said that the United Kingdom official registrar of businesses and organizations, Companies House, lists an active company called Emerdata Limited, which is headquartered at the same offices as SCL Elections, the political arm of the company, and is run by the same individuals.

Just this March, Cambridge Analytica suspended Alexander Nix, its chief executive.

Julian Wheatland, the recently appointed CEO of Cambridge Analytica, reportedly told staffers that it had evaluated all options and saw no way forward.
