In 'Venom' Trailer, Tom Hardy Gets a Back Story

I am not sure Tom Hardy would be a ideal Venom, since it largely depends on VFX and sound design teams, but he would be the flawless Eddie Brock.

At CinemaCon, the trailer was well received on its opening night and Hardy has said he is excited that his son will be able to see Venom.

Directed by Ruben Fleischer, Venom also stars Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, and Woody Harrelson. Check out the photos below!

Venom is set for wide release on October 5, 2018. Be sure to check it out when it becomes available! "If you're gonna stay, you will only hurt bad people", he says in the trailer.

"See, we didn't actually forget to put in Venom in the movie", Sony Pictures chairman Tom Rothman joked on Monday after screening the trailer at CinemaCon (per The Hollywood Reporter).

The character originates from the Spider-Man line of comic books, and was originally introduced in 1984. As it turns out, Sony seems to have worked out a Spider-Man free origin for Venom, with the symbiote that bonds with Brock being discovered by a shady businessman who uses it in human testing. When Spidey rejected the symbiote, it found Eddie Brock, a disgraced journalist with a grudge against Spider-Man.

Venom was created in 1988 by Marvel Comics. We see his tendrils shooting out his body at all angles, acting like Topher Grace's webs, but with much deadlier results. "Do we have a deal?" the symbiote replies. Ready for the symbiote to take over? But now that we've finally gotten a good look at this new big-screen Venom, it's clear that the film is sticking close to the classic design. In the comics, she was the first She-Venom, though trailer does not drop any hint about that.
