Fiji's quest for fourth straight Sevens crown gathers pace

In what was a repeat of the Vancouver Sevens final, Kenya locked horns with the mighty Fijians in a tantalizing fashion at the Hong Kong Stadium but could not get a way past the gritty Fiji. Local media reported four people had been killed, while thousands of homes were flooded.

"It's great to have done this for the people of Fiji and those who have been affected by the floods in Fiji", explained Fiji coach Gareth Baber.

Fiji won a fourth successive Hong Kong Sevens after pouncing on Kenya's ill-discipline and errors to take the final 24-12 on Sunday.

Kenya's Collins Injera and Willy Ambaka have been yellow carded within the first half and the Pacific islanders took full benefit stepping into at halftime 17-Zero forward.

Kenya started the second half with a try to Billy Odhiambo but the comeback was snuffed out by consecutive knock-ons forced by Fiji.

Fiji's record as the outstanding all-time performers in Hong Kong has been further strengthened as they now have 18 wins from 28 finals, well clear of New Zealand, with 11 wins from 22 finals.
