The festival's music is eclectic, with a huge rang of genres on offer including rock, indie, electronica and hip hop. The star's performance was dubbed "legendary".

Beyoncé's iconic entrance as an African queen will resonate as one of the most powerful moments in Coachella history.

Beyonce's sister, Solange Knowles, and husband Jay-Z also joined Beyonce on stage during her set.

People raved about her 26-song performance, which DJ Khaled renamed "Beychella", saying during her set, "After tonight, Coachella gotta rename Coachella the Beychella".

By now, whether or not you're even a Beyoncé fan, you've probably seen a lot of her Coachella performance floating around the internet.

The 36-year-old delighted the BeyHive with her decision to return to the Californian music festival, after being forced to pull out of last year's headline slot under doctor's orders, given that she was pregnant with twins Rumi and Sir Carter. Beyonce appeared at the top of the structure wearing a yellow college sorority top, butt-cheek-baring Daisy Duke denim shorts and knee-high white furry boots, and, after pausing to soak in one of her biggest crowds ever, she kicked off her set with insane in Love and Formation. She didn't have to come out to "Life Every Voice and Sing" or dish out the HBCU vibes, but she damn sure did. "Coachella, thank you for allowing me to be the first black woman to headline", she told the crowd, introducing "Run the World (Girls)".

But what arguably turned out to be the most epic part of the night was when the artist brought former Destiny's Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams onstage to join her for a surprise reunion. "I hope y'all enjoyed the show".
