Bald Eagle Attacks Seattle Mariners Player During National Anthem

The Minnesota Twins' home opener Thursday ended with a win for the home team, but the only thing anyone can talk about is the wonderful poise Seattle Mariners pitcher James Paxton put on display when a bald eagle landed on his shoulder.

A bald eagle was brought out to fly around the field during the National Anthem at Minneapolis' Target Field as the Twins took on the Seattle Mariners at home.

And Paxton wound up as the landing spot, sticking its talons into his back.

"It was coming right for me and I was like, 'Alright, the guy is over there".

Trump slammed for 'NO MORE DACA' Easter tweets
It was not immediately clear what Trump was referring to when he said people are coming to take advantage of the program. Trump also threatened to kill NAFTA if Mexico did not stop immigrants from reaching the US border.

Paxton seemed to stay calm, and the eagle eventually landed on the ground and was picked up by its handler. This time Paxton turned his back to the eagle, who hopped on board and tried to find a grip on his shoulder. "I was just standing there trying not to panic".

Paxton was standing alone in left field at Target Field just minding his own business, when a bald eagle came flying in and landed on his shoulder. But it was just trying to stand on my shoulder. The raptor's handler immediately came running onto the field with his big leather arm sleeve and the bird finally cooperated and stopped going after Paxton.

Paxton called the experience interesting and said tongue-in-cheek that he wasn't too surprised that the errant eagle sought out the Canadian on the the field.

Maybe the Eagle will give him the good luck he needs to turn around his 11.00 ERA.
