Amazon Prime has 100 million subscribers, reveals CEO Jeff Bezos

Amazon Prime has 100 million subscribers, reveals CEO Jeff Bezos

The total subscriber count was revealed in a letter Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos sent to company shareholders on Wednesday.

In the past, Amazon has only disclosed vague information about the number of Prime subscribers, such as it having "tens of millions of members".

Amazon is scheduled to release its quarterly earnings on April 26.

So, it comes as no surprise that one of the biggest America's retail giants AMAZON has the largest market in India. Moody's guess last summer, based on an evaluation of demographic data, was closer to 50 million, well below Costco's of 86.7 million members.

After years of secrecy and speculation, we now have information on how successful and popular the premium service is. An American entertainment company, Netflix reached 125 million subscribers worldwide, charge around $120 for its video-streaming service.

Abe Gets Little From Trump to Douse Political Firestorm in Japan
Trump said he was working to reduce the $56.1 billion USA trade deficit with Japan by pushing to remove barriers to US exports. Trump said it was clear from their talks that the abductee issue is "one of the truly most important things on Shinzo's mind".

Amazon shares rose about 1.5 per cent in extended trading after the letter was published. He said that the company's Prime Day for 2017 was its "biggest global shopping event ever" until it was soon eclipsed by Cyber Monday, the day of online shopping deals following the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Amazon shipped more than 5 billion items through Prime in 2017, according to the letter.

Speaking to Billboard recently, Boom said that key contributors to that success were the growth of the firm's Echo smart speakers and the fact that Amazon is targeting more mainstream music listeners than its rivals. The device makes it easier to shop online and gives the company a toehold in homes. The company last year expanded Prime to Mexico, Singapore, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg last year, in addition to the U.K., Germany, Austria, India, Japan, Italy, Spain, and France.

'It has become a golden ticket for Amazon, ' he said. The timing of this exercise of back-patting is quite curious, as Amazon will be reporting the financials for Q1 in exactly one week. Only Apple, at about $900 billion, and Google's corporate parent, at about $745 billion, are now worth more.

Backed by investors such as SoftBank, Tencent and Microsoft, Flipkart has stayed on top in spite of intense competition from Amazon. From "free", speedy delivery of Amazon purchases, to TV, music, fashion, a virtual library, free delivery on "Fresh" orders and cashback on a Prime Visa Signature Card.
