Samsung unveils invisible QLED TVs

The official pricing has yet to be announced but it costs anywhere from $2,200 to $3,900 depending on the model.

Although FALD has been featured in various TVs from other makers, Samsung has incorporated it only for the first time, notes The Verge. The TVs will be available this month.

Beyond picture quality and price, Samsung also highlights the QLED sets' style and smarts. That means thermostats, lights, security cameras, appliances, and more can be connected directly to the TV for control through the SmartThings app or through other control systems. As TVs have gotten larger in size, these challenges have become more-challenging.

Well, we're told that new to the lineup are "several features that are created to meet consumers' needs for better picture quality, convenience, connection and sharing". It means, there is one almost invisible connection point with the TV.

Samsung QLED 4K TVs come with the Ambient Mode, a feature that can mimic the texture on the wall behind, and nearly make it disappear.

"Our 2018 line-up of televisions are most innovative and sophisticated yet, designed for today's consumer who is mindful of the aesthetics of their space", Jonghee Han, President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, told the gathering during the launch event at the American Stock Exchange.

Samsung unveiled it's new line of TVs, home entertainment pieces, and overall innovations. An impressive framework of precisely controlled LEDs delivers pristine contrast across all images displayed onscreen.

All the models have Ambient Mode.

The feature is built into some of Samsung " s new QLED TVs and is called "Ambient Mode", using a picture of the wall behind to create the "camouflage'.

Inspired by Ambient Mode.

Samsung designed each of the QLED displays with an option for Ambient Mode.

This year, the company took the concept a notch up by folding power into its One Invisible Connection wire. Available up to 15 meters, it frees consumers from having to place their TV near data or power outlets. Samsung says this learning will allow Bixby to look for content through the TV, though we're not quite sure how much this extends across devices. The TV will play music, as well as display news headlines and weather updates.

Last year Samsung released Frame TV which is meant to look like a picture frame that's hung on a wall. The TV will understand spoken natural language and quickly search for content, and with deep-learning technology, they will continue to learn over time. An accessory mobile SmartThings app lets you control this technology with plenty of simplicity.

Samsung's new 2018 Q6FN TVs are the entry-level QLED TV models. Amazon does not state shipping dates yet for the leaked 2018 Samsung QLED TVs. The improved backlighting was easily noticeable on the higher-end models, though I wish Samsung was able to deploy it across the entire lineup.

UHD: Models in the 2018 UHD TV lineup include NU7100 (75/65/55/49/43). It still gets HDR10+ and a 4K resolution, however. The Q9F would come in 75 and 65-inch screens, and the Q8F in 55, 65 and 75-inch.
