The BB&T outage was first reported on Thursday and impacted millions of customers who use the bank's online banking, mobile and ATM services.

It continued, "To our clients, we are deeply sorry this has happened".

BB&T said it did not think the problem was related to a cyberattack but that it resulted from an equipment malfunction in a data center. We hear your frustration, and we are committed to making this right.
