Amond has Spurs in his sights for Wembley cup replay

Tottenham will look to clinch a belated progression into the fifth round of the FA Cup when they host Newport County at Wembley on Wednesday.

Erik Lamela scored his first goal in 17 months as Tottenham sauntered past the League Two side.

One of the fallouts from the first game was a secret dossier prepared by the Newport County management team, which lays out the strengths and weaknesses of Mauricio Pochettino's men.

Spurs might have something to say about that, but in Amond, Newport have their own Harry Kane, and this is the FA Cup after all.

League Two Newport nearly upset Spurs in the first meeting at Rodney Parade just over a week ago, only to be denied victory by an 82nd-minute equaliser from Harry Kane. Never caused me any problems and like I said, I wanted to keep him.

Despite the overriding importance of the Premier League, Tottenham was clearly grateful for a second bite of the cherry after Harry Kane's late equaliser had saved their blushes during the original tie.

"We have a very good team and we need everyone fit to fight for places".

Ancient spiders, preserved in amber
Amber can give us an unprecedented view into prehistoric life, preserving softer elements that regular fossilization just can't. The first Uraraneida fossil was discovered in NY state in the U.S. in 1987 and was initially misidentified as a spider.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino obviously has one eye on Saturday's crunch North London derby against Arsenal as he makes 10 changes to the team that drew 2-2 with Liverpool last weekend.

Fernando Llorente, who has struggled to make an impact since joining in the summer, had two glorious chances late on that he should have converted, as Lamela pulled the strings.

"It's important for many players to have the possibility to play", added Pochettino. I think he is going to find it easy to recover his real level, or improve because he is more mature and you learn in a tough moment a lot.

The road to Wembley takes us to.Wembley tonight, as Tottenham play Newport County in their fourth-round replay.

They could not match Tottenham - few can at the minute - but this was their night under the lights.

Sissoko drove in from the right, and the unlucky Dan Butler inadvertently deflected beyond his own goalkeeper, Joe Day, much to the relief of those in the stands backing the Lillywhites.

During that spell, Lamela will have more opportunities to continue his return to prominence after his best performance in more than a year, and Pochettino knows how crucial he can be.
