USA lawmakers vote to reject Democrat's resolution to impeach Trump

Rep. Al Green (R-Tex.) came to the House floor at 12:13 p.m. Wednesday to offer articles of impeachment under special House rules requiring a floor vote; he returned to the floor at 1:34 to force that vote.

And Green said three Democrats are asking to meet with him in an apparent effort to dissuade him from bringing up the vote.

Mr. Green is among a handful of liberal members who've pushed for impeachment now, even though Democrats do not control either chamber.

Last month, a group of six Democrats, including Green, unveiled articles of impeachment accusing Trump of obstructing justice when firing former FBI Director James Comey; violating the Constitution's emoluments clause; and undermining the independence of the federal judiciary and freedom of the press.

All in all, it was a politically inept decision on Green's part.

So, if a franchise does not to directly retain any player, it will be allowed a maximum of three RTMs at the auctions. The BCCI has allowed an IPL franchise to retain or secure five players through the Right to Match (RTM) clause.

Green and his allies were criticized for the effort, with the White House labeling them as "extremists". "It is not about Republicans, it is about the fate of our Republic", Green wrote to colleagues Tuesday.

As examples, Green's articles of impeachment cite Trump's equivocating response to the violence from a white supremacist march in Charlottesville, Va., in August, as well as his attacks on NFL players kneeling during the national anthem to protest police brutality. Every Republican voted against the measure, while 58 Democrats voted for impeachment, and four Democrats voted present.

They say legitimate questions have been raised about Trump's fitness to lead the nation, but say congressional investigations and a special counsel investigation should be allowed to continue. Green also charges Trump with "sowing discord" among the American people.

We are a long way from having the votes in Congress to impeach, a vote that must happen on a bipartisan basis.

Democratic Rep. Dan Kildee of MI says Democratic lawmakers can't let themselves be drawn into a process "that's not thoughtful or complete or might not even be the conclusion we ought to draw". The articles of impeachment he brought against Trump in October accused the president of "fueling an alt-right hate machine" that's "causing immediate injury to American society".
