Google Assistant is coming to many Android tablets soon

Google's big bet on machine learning and Artificial Intelligence depends to a large extent on the adoption of its Google Assistant, a voice-based digital assistant.

Today Google has announced that it will stretch back availability for even older Android handsets, as well as tablet devices running the Android operating system as well. Spanish speakers in Spain, Mexico and the USA will be supported as well as native language speakers in Japan, Italy, Germany, Brazil and Korea. It's also rolling it out to Lollipop smartphone users in Italy, Japan, Germany, Brazil, and Korea. Talking about the tablets, the Google Assistant still lacks the support for Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The Assistant for tablets comes with features like making shopping lists (which automatically gets synced with your phone), set reminders, control your smart devices like plugs and lights, ask about the weather, ask questions and more. The new set of Google Apps are also created to cater to the needs of first-time users. So were phones running older Android versions. It'll launch on Android Lollipop phones where Google Assistant is already available, like the UK.

India, Russia, China jointly condemn terrorism
The Chinese minister met minister of external affairs Sushma Swaraj in New Delhi on Monday ahead of the RIC meeting. And it will be better to meet again and without agenda, which will help us to expand our mutual understanding.

Google bringing Assistant to Android 5.0 at this point might be a surprise to some, but the motive behind the company's latest move is obvious.

Newer phones have had Google Assistant for a while now, but this is the first time tablets are getting the highly capable AI virtual assistant. As TechCrunch reported, users will first have to open the Google Assistant app before they make a request.
