Dana White Reveals Targeted Return Date, Opponent For Conor McGregor

McGregor has made no promises about his return to the UFC after earning a career-high pay day in August when he took on Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match. But, after it was confirmed the former welterweight champ was dealing with colitis, and GSP vacated the middleweight title, he did say he would work with the UFC to determine "what's next in my career."

During the build-up to the Mayweather vs. McGregor fight Mayweather teased several times that he'd fight in the UFC next, and the Irishman welcomed that opportunity with open arms. Listen you guys know, I was here, I did not believe that Mayweather-McGregor would happen and it did.

Dana White hopes Conor McGregor will return to UFC by summer.

White also stated, in an interview on Undisputed, that the victor of the UFC 219 fight between Edson Barboza and Khabib Nurmagomedov could determine the next fight for Ferguson while he is awaiting the return of McGregor.

White was wearing Zuffa Boxing shirts on the press tour for the McGregor and Mayweather showdown and conducted numerous interviews regarding his intention to have the UFC and their parent company branch out to boxing.

"[Floyd] had come out earlier and said that, so people were asking me about it. We both knew what was going on", White said about St-Pierre's future when speaking to ESPN on Wednesday.

- I actually have a meeting- I have a meeting with those guys, today.

So, ya. It's not surprising to see that White might be miffed at GSP, but to shoot down a bout with McGregor?

"Whoever wins the Barboza-Khabib fight - while we're trying to figure out this Conor mess - could end up fighting Tony Ferguson for the opportunity to fight Conor McGregor", he said. "They're both waiting, if Georges wants to come back", he added.
