Chrome is Going to Start Blocking Bad Ads on February 15

Google already revealed earlier that it is going to start blocking specific ads in Chrome, but now we know when. That means avoiding popups, prestitial ads with countdown timers, auto-playing videos with sound, and large ads that stick to the screen as you scroll. Once Chrome's ad blocker goes live on February 15, sites that have been in violation of the Better Ads Standard for more than 30 days will have all ads blocked until they fix the portions that are in violation and are resubmitted for approval. When those annoying ads will be eliminated, the users will never have to install an ad blocker, which stops all ads from loading, thereby, crippling the ad businesses.

In June, Google announced that its Chrome browser would block ads on websites that are not compliant with the Better Ads standards.

Power outages at Atlanta's busy airport grounding some flights
That report was unconfirmed, and Georgia Power said it was working with airport authorities to determine the cause of the outage. Hartsfield-Jackson handles 2,500 flights and an average of 275,000 passengers daily, according to its website.

Google's decision to join the Coalition for Better Ads earlier this year signaled that big changes were coming in the world of online advertising. "All of this information can be found in the Ad Experience Report Help Center, and our product forums are available to help address any questions or feedback". Publishers who volunteered for the Better Ads Experience program will be notified if they have violated the guidelines, thereby, allowing them to rectify the situation. The built-in ad blocker will enforce these standards on all websites. However, for websites that have just one of such intrusive ads, it will be blocking all the ads on that site even if all its other ads meet the standard.

However, it will block some of the most annoying ads you're likely to encounter while using the internet. According to the company, indiscriminate ad blockers impact publishers' bottom lines and threaten the sustainability of the web ecosystem. Despite the fact that Google makes the vast majority of its revenue from ads, the company sees its selective ad blocker as the natural evolution of pop-up blockers.
