Controversial surgeon says human head transplant 'imminent'

"For too long nature has dictated her rules to us", Canavero said in a press conference earlier this week, in which he claimed to have successfully completed a human head transplant on a corpse.

He accomplished his arguably gruesome operation by fusing the spine, nerves and blood vessels of the first subject with those of the second. Like when he claimed to have successfully transplanted a monkey's head previous year.

Reports says, Sergio Canavero Italian Surgeon and Director of the Turin Advanced Neuromodulation Group stated that their team would soon be moving to a living human.

Valery Spiridonov, a Russian tech scientist, reached out to him saying that he was willing to participate.

The next step of scientific work Canavero has outlined a head transplant from a donor with a dead brain.

The pipeline is not yet ten years old - and has leaked dozens of times, spilling hundreds of thousands of gallons along its route. A portion of the pipeline enters eastern Nebraska at the South Dakota border and exits at Steele City.

Also the full head swap between brain-dead organ donors is the next stage.Sergio Canavero Italian Surgeon, claimed that the transplant to be successful.

Canavero claims to be the first to work on such surgeries, stressing that this success will encourage his team to proceed with this kind of transplants in the near future. That will be followed by a "formal head transplant" operation in China in December, according to Newsweek. "Everyone said it was impossible, but the operation worked", he said.

Asked if the final plan to go through the procedure would continue throughout the world after the preliminary tests in China, Professor Canavero said, given the amount of criticism he received, he felt he would not be transplanting internationally. "But the surgery was successful", he said, according to The Telegraph.

In 1970, a head transplant was successfully performed on a monkey. Similar operations in live humans will take place immediately, the controversial professor claims.

Experts in the medical community said that a procedure like this would not be allowed in either the United States or Europe.
